Paulownia surfboard skin coming out of the sanding machine

Paulownia Surfboard Skins

We can produce surfboard skins in a variety of thicknesses by slicing up our large stock of 2m and 2.2m 250mm wide Paulownia timber planks.

We have recently produced 5 and 6mm skins for customers down in Torquay and Ocean Grove in Victoria who are busy making wooden surfboards using the traditional rib and spine construction method.

Thinner skins are also an option, down to 1.5mm-2mm if you are wanting to vacuum bag Paulownia onto an EPS/PU core then its a great option and we are likely one of the only suppliers of this in Australia.

We first cut the planks into slightly thicker strips using our belt-fed horizontal bandsaw before putting them through our wide-belt sander to dress and take the skins down to the precise thickness desired by the customer.

Send us an email at: alastair@sinesurf.com or give me a call on: 0426281785 to discuss options.
